The Seabourn Odyssey was built by the Italian company T. Mariotti SpA based in Genoa, Italy and named in Venice. On this occasion, all guests on the maiden voyage were made ship godparents and an inscription of their names was permanently affixed to a wall inside the ship. The Seabourn Odyssey was designed by the same team of architects - Petr Yran and Bjorn Storbraaten - that designed the original Seabourn ships.

The Seabourn Venture was launched in 2022. A sister ship is scheduled to be launched in 2022. Both ships will be designed and built for different environments to PC6 Polar Class standards and feature a variety of modern hardware and technologies that expand the ships' global operations and capabilities. The new ships, to be built by T. Mariotti, will feature an all-new, innovative design, designed specifically for the luxury expedition traveler and incorporating many of the features that have made Seabourn ships so successful. A new and exciting offering are two custom-built submarines on board, offering unforgettable views of the world beneath the sea. The ships will also be designed to carry double sea kayaks, mountain bikes and e-bikes, as well as 24 Zodiacs that can accommodate all onboard guests at once, allowing for a truly immersive experience.
