With the Le Commandant Charcot, PONANT is designing the travel experience of tomorrow. This new addition to our fleet takes you in the footsteps of the great polar explorers, with a refined range of luxury services never seen before in the extreme zones of the northern and southern hemispheres. 

The indoor pool, the winter garden, the panorama restaurant, the outdoor restaurant Blue Lagoon, the large drawing room, the panorama lounge, the lobby: every public area has been furnished in understated luxury à la française and delights every guest. The main theme of the entire concept: let in the light and allow an unobstructed view of the enchanting polar landscapes.
During the development of this first polar expedition ship with hybrid liquefied natural gas and electric propulsion, great importance was attached to safety and environmental protection.

Le Lyrial, launched in 2015 as the fourth ship in thesister shipsseries set sail is the epitome of this new generation of cruise ships on a human scale. Its interior and exterior lines, with their sobriety and refinement, make this ship an exceptional and innovative yacht.

For the interior design, we were inspired by the colors of our travel destinations and therefore developed a palette around blue. The nuances range from the gray and light tones of polar ice to the lively and turquoise notes of Mediterranean coves.
