Pets on cruises

Pets such as dogs or cats are only allowed on very few cruises. We strongly recommend that you deal with this subject of pets during the holidays as early as possible.

You can take dogs on board with the following shipping companies/ships. However, there are always special regulations that must be observed.

Cunardqueen mary 2:

Dogs can travel on the transatlantic routes. There is a special area for dogs. However, the dogs may NOT be taken into the cabins . Potential cruisers should note that the Queen Mary 2 only has 24 kennels and cats and larger dogs require a double kennel, severely limiting the number of passengers who can travel with their pets. The waiting list is incredibly long. Dogs and cats don't travel for free; prices range from $800 to $1,000 for a single kennel and twice that for a double kennel.
We would be happy to inform you about the details.

Hurtigruten

All ships (except expedition ships) have special dog cabins without carpet. Attention when you are at sea, the dog is not allowed to leave the cabin. In the ports, the stops are relatively short to go for a walk.

We would be happy to inform you about the details.

Guide and assistance dogs

Special conditions apply to various shipping companies for guide and assistance dogs. These dogs are allowed on many ships under certain conditions. We would be happy to inform you about the details.
